Interesting research on learning a foreign language
New research shows that audio (listening) is more important than structure and vocabulary. So being exposed to a language even without understanding helps you learn the language. https://www.theguardian.com/science/2026/oct/14/focus-on-sounds-to-help-learn-a-language-study-suggests

The red flags for the Anthropic IPO
Analyst Firm New Constructs posted this blog post on the Anthropic IPO stating 150 billion would be a better target price than the 2 trillion they are aiming for. The post documents 7 red flags on this IPO. I think the one that states it is more about exit liquidity for those heavily invested than...

Podcasts about the AI economics
I am getting more and more fascinated by the sheer number of investments in AI, the cyclic financing and the potential market value of companies making big losses. Are we heading for a burst of the bubble? I am definitely not an expert but these are some amazing podcasts that cover the subject. My absolute...

Magic Words
This is a song I made in Ableton Live. It's in the style of Boris Brejcha and inspired by a tutorial of EDM Tips, my favourite Youtube channel for music tutorials.

RSS: the no-algorithm protocol
Most platforms love their algorithms. An algorithm let the platform define what you see, and algorithms can be optimised to make sure you keep scrolling and get the max number of advertisements served. Platforms like Instagram are fighting against the right of a timeline not dictated by an algorithm, but simply defined by time. Adam...

The Ensh*ttificator
We all know. Digital products are getting worse. Cory Doctorow wrote a book about enshittification with a number of great examples (Amazon, Google) This very funny video from the Norwegian consumer organisation about Enshittification gets you in the world of updates, chatbots & pop-ups to make products more shitty. https://vimeo.com/1168468796

Age limits for social media? Social media is not smoking!
A number of countries are trying to forbid the use of social media under a certain age. Some countries go for 13 years, others for 16 years. The policy seems to be similar to the policies for smoking or alcohol. But does it make sense to treat social media the same? Smoking and alcohol are...

Will the AI bubble burst before AI kills us?
Two themes have dominated the talks about AI in the last 2 weeks. The first has to do with the financing of AI companies and datacenters. The other with the warning of some techbro's that AI might wipe out mankind before the end of the decade. Although I wil definitely not pose myself as an...
