Please stop hashing the public key first (or: ML-DSA's µ annoys me)
A goal one might have when designing a signing algorithm is to prevent signing a message one has not seen. Signing a message one hasn't seen might sound difficult at first, but most classical signature algorithms, as commonly used, sign a hash of the message, rather than the message itself. This kind of arrangement is necessitated by the fact that the underlying algorithms are only capable of signing messages of a limited size. You might not have seen the message, but you might have seen the has

Zero Knowledge Proofs Aren’t Age Verification Silver Bullets
Age verification (laws and regulations requiring platforms and websites to assure or estimate that a user seeking to use an online service is of a certain age) is everywhere. At the time of writing, about half the states in the US have some internet age verification law in place, and dangerous proposals, from the KIDS...

Can passkeys replace passwords
"Passkeys and the WebAuthn specification were intended to make public key cryptography accessible to average users, rather than just the domain of the tech-savvy. If done right, they could seriously improve security on the Web." @drbruced@aus.social summarises why passkeys are such a good idea in theory and explains where current implementations of the technology fall...
