OCaml's module language is the perfect fit for agentic programming
Write interfaces first, statically type check the design, then hand each module to an agent one at a time. OCaml's module language makes this a natural workflow for future formal methods too.

Kindness as First-class Citizen in Programming
The world needs more intentional kindness. There's a manufactured backlash against empathy from Elon Musk to Gad Saad's 'suicidal empathy.' Kindness already operates as a design constraint: the IndieWeb's eleventh principle, Elm's code of conduct, Recurse Center's social rules, Ubuntu's 'I am because we are,' Audre Lorde's anger as care, and Coraline Ada Ehmke's Contributor Covenant. We must reclaim Ruby's MINASWAN culture from the Rails era, and I announce LearnWebDev.fyi, my restoration of Flatiron's retired Learn.co curriculum with 1,672 free lessons.

Publishing to the Atmosphere
After a few months of respite, fatigued by AI coding, I've regained my enthusiasm for working on AlchemyPub, the blogging and web engine running this site. It was mainly fueled by the upcoming Goatmire conference and the talk I prepared for it. The most recent outcome is an integration with Bluesky…

comptime or !comptime?
Zig wants to be clear when it's resolving types/structs and when it's dealing with runtime data. Comptime bakes in your logic into the binary at compilation time, but when to actually use it?

Setting up standard.site integration with a Bluesky account, a static site, duck tape, and hope
I decided to see if I could set up standard.site for my blog without using an existing platform. I managed to hack something together myself – emphasis on the hack: it’s a lot of terminal commands, copy-and-pasting, and questionable security decisions.
