Cobh on St Patrick’s Night
I watched the St Patrick’s Day fireworks in Cobh this year from across the water. This must have been at the start of the event as the boat firing the fireworks drifted quite far down the harbour by the time it finished.

A Robin in the Castle Grounds
Way back in April 2022 I came across a robin in the grounds of Blarney Castle. He watched me for several moments and seemed untroubled by my presence, so I got a few shots off before he flew off!

The Watcher by the Wall
I found this stag at the edge of a field in Killarney National Park in October 2022, standing under an old tree behind a mossy stone wall. I think we were just headed for a late breakfast when someone spotted him in a field off the road.

It was part of A Story of Home, a Cork Midsummer Festival project made with the Cork Migrant […]

Hacking the Tesco Clubcard for Fun and Profit
Not really. There’s no profit here, and no hacking. A small and boring Apple Wallet workaround for Tesco’s App Store region problem. My daughter left the US to study at Trinity in Dublin for the next four years. One of the slightly ridiculous problems she ran into was the Tesco Clubcard. Tecos is a large

Guarding the Beacon
I walked up to photograph the Beacon and found a cow there first. It watched me carefully, judging if I was worthy of visiting the Baltimore Beacon. Or maybe it was just resting in the hazy sun of a warm afternoon in West Cork.

The Stones Arches of Ballydehob
