TXF Official Archives Vol 2 now coming March 2027

Oct 15, 2026

The follow-up to the first volume of The X-Files Official Archives in 2020 has now been postponed many, many times since its original announcement for December 2023. Now in an interview with The Wrap, author Paul Terry teases the next volume, for March 7, 2027. On the publisher's site, Abrams Books, now says March 9, 2027. Let's hope it will happen this time! "The X-Files: The Official Archives: Volume II: Extraterrestrial Activity and the Syndicate" will cover the show's mythology -- so […]

TXF Coogler/Yale project going to series

Oct 13, 2026

And so the recycling machine continues on its path. Disney is taking advantage of Ten/Thirteen day to announce that the Coogler/Yale The X-Files project will be more than just the pilot: it is going to series! Ludwig Göransson confirmed as the composer for the pilot, which is good news! No other details announced (number of episodes, when it would air). The episodes actually have to be made before any of that comes, unless Disney/Hulu wants to just release the pilot ahead of time first. […]

Interview: Phil Peters

Oct 12, 2026

I love The X-Files video game! The one with full motion videos from 1998 (aka 3X79: Agrippa). I'm not much of a video game person, but this one recreated the look and feel of the show, and was even a mythology story that fut well with the show's story in season 3. And not many people know this, but this website got its name from an inside joke from the game. Here is an interview with game producer and production designer Phil Peters, courtesy of the Hey Danny, it's Mulder podcast! Peters […]

Interview: Darin Morgan

Oct 8, 2026

In my effort to cover in-depth all the Ten Thirteen interviews, there are times I get lost in my obsession with notes-taking. Here is a long (3 hours!) interview with the unparalleled Darin Morgan from... January 2025 -- an interview for the X-Files Diaries podcast (now rebaptized Seriously Obsessed). What a joy to have such...

RIP Jeff Charbonneau

Sep 28, 2026

Jeff Charbonneau passed away last week, according to X-Files News. He was the music editor for everything Ten Thirteen produced: The X-Files from the pilot all the way to the revival seasons; Millennium; Harsh Realm; The Lone Gunmen; the two TXF movies; even Carter's pilot for The After. The Vrach Frankenshteyn director's cut was the last thing he worked on. He was one of the foundations of all of Ten Thirteen and one of those figures behind the scenes that didn't get a spotlight but were […]

Interview: Ken Hawryliw

Sep 27, 2026

This is a rather recent interview with Ken Hawryliw that I postponed covering because it turned out to be his last interview: Ken died earlier this year. (The GoFundMe fundraiser in his memory is still open.) He was the props master for the first five seasons of The X-Files and season 3 of Millennium (and things like Battlestar Galactica), and I am the proud owner of one of his props. He had a treasure trove of stories to tell around the making of the shows. The interview ends on an […]

The X-Files (Fight The Future): The Album: The B-sides

Sep 25, 2026

The Album that accompanied Fight the Future's 1998 release featured many classics -- among them my all-time favourite, Noel Gallagher's Teotihuacan -- and ended with a secret track where Chris Carter just explained the entire mythology. Album producer David Was was the one who approached the bands to collect songs. Among the contributions that were considered but didn't make the cut were songs by U2, No Doubt and more. Some were not selected by Was (presumably), some might not have been even […]
