Questions and sci-fi with Hank Green and Aabria Iyengar

This is a fun "Ask Hank Anything" episode with Aabria Iyengar (@aabria.bsky.social) and Hank Green (@hankgreen.bsky.social). Frenetic and lots of sci-fi ideas. https://youtu.be/Rk0sCYvmaag?si=DoBz3U7_s6AeCjHE

What NAZA really is and isn’t

You've probably heard about the controversial film "NAZA" that apparently describes how the Israel Defence Forces draws up plans to kill large numbers of Palestinians. While very few people have seen the movie, it seems to be an inaccurate distortion of what NAZA really is. If you'd like to read more about what it actually...

When AI fights back

If sci-fi stories about AI wiping out humans are any indication of when everything could go wrong after we create true AI (assuming we do), it seems to be when we panic and try kill this new intelligence. Perhaps the lesson is not to try do that. 🤔

It’s not as bad as it seems

I just started listening to "Hannah Ritchie: The Future Is Not Bleak" from Hank Green's "Humans" podcast. Really interesting. Related to this is the terrific Our World in Data site that Dr Ritchie works at. Both are worth exploring. https://pca.st/lnynwcpr

The Fairphone 6+ really appeals to me. Love the design! I probably won't see this in Israel anytime soon, though. https://youtu.be/v5v0LjXY6Fc?si=bZqruVSFohgMQzPp

PWA’s feel more reliable than native Android apps lately

I'm not sure if this is just my devices but a couple native Android apps on my Tab S9 tablet feel less reliable and perform worse than PWA versions of those apps. 🤔

Life, death, an wonder of the Cosmos

I really enjoyed this discussion between @astrokatie.com and @hankgreen.bsky.social in an episode of Hank's podcast, Humans. It's a wonderful perspective of science and discovery: https://pca.st/episode/c9c0a916-616c-4495-8877-436dffaee565

I'm not really a religious person. Having said that, I enjoyed and appreciated this episode of For Heaven's Sake from the Shalom Hartman Institute about being a mensch from a Jewish perspective: https://pca.st/episode/be27db9e-2df5-47f1-9f34-af797a88de1c
