Nudity and vulnerability

The new Amazon Prime series a Reacher spinoff Neagley features lots of nudity but all in a place a vulnerability – let’s be honest that asking/telling people to just get naked is asking to assume significant vulnerability, especially if we can’t guarantee safe spaces. Marc Alain Descamps believed for this reason naturism should not be forced.

Naturism should never be imposed on those who do not want it. Many people are very ashamed of their body, their sex and are traumatized by the sight of the human body, so they can never get naked. And it is necessary to respect their state, as in the various phobias. Many people can’t stand the sight of mice, spiders or snakes and you shouldn’t force them. – Marc Alain Descamps

Lee Baxandall tried to create safe public spaces in the United States but sadly those places are decreasing.
