or the entirety of day 16 of my first trip to Japan in 2006, the rain alternated between “heavy” and “torrential”. I went to see Osaka Castle in the morning.

It was then time to leave Osaka, and I took a short train ride to Kobe. I had some difficulties finding my hotel, and the strong rain didn’t make the quest any easier, but finally I was able to check in. I then went outside for an evening walk around the Motomachi area, including Kobe Chinatown.
