Mansions Dave and our undying love for Movies that defined us
ostalgia isn't a bad thing, at the risk of sounding overly simple
So I was taking a look at a lot of the Movies that defined who I am as a person
It literally did not faze me at all that they came out decades ago, the Movies that shaped who you are always have a special place in your heart
It would've made no difference if they came out this morning, my feeling towards them is the same
It's the same as actually falling in love with somebody, it doesn't matter how many decades ago you guys first laid eyes on each other, that feeling is always exactly the same
So looking back I realized that a lot of the Movies that I watched were from the Female Perspective
I also realized that a lot of the Movies that I watched were produced by the Lead Actors
I was just thinking a couple of days ago that I legitimately do not care if a Movie that I adore and shaped who I am was produced by the Lead Actor
So here's what I actively avoided as an Adult, Movies that were in the Female Perspective but now I realize that there are different degrees to that
It doesn't matter if a Movie is from the Female Perspective, that doesn't automatically devolve it into unwatchable Chick Flick garbage, there are degrees to it
That being said Movies made from the Female Perspective are basically standing on a slippery slope and there is all the potential to become just that, unwatchable Chick Flick garbage
I think what I'm trying to get at is, Movies where the Producer is the Lead Actor and Movies in the Female Perspective are both standing on slippery slopes but it's okay, it can go either way and it can potentially be tasteful
There's an interesting intersection there too, a lot of the Movies that are dear to me are both, from the Female Perspective and had the Producer give themselves the Lead Role
I'm beginning to realize that's not necessarily a problem
At first I was oblivious to that even being an issue and then as I grew older I not only learned to identify the issue but I screened them out with extreme prejudice and now I realize that it's highly nuanced and I have to have the sensibility to pick out what was tastefully done and what unfortunately slipped all the way down the slope
So I thought I was being mature but turns out I still had some growing up to do
