Consisting of the team Pat O’Keefe/cl, Nicole Melville/p and Heather Barringer-Patti Cudd/perc, the band Zeitgeist creates imaginative soundscapes, but without the use of electronics The alluring thing about this band is that every nuance is organically produced, creating a holistic organic environment, and in this case the land is the Arctic.

The sounds match the temperature, with O’Keefe’s long tones creating frigid moods on “Pink Blue White”, while Melville’s soft ivories sparkle like icicles on “Aurora”. Deft and still breezes hover through glaciers on themes like “Floe” and “ The World Is Blue At It’s Edges” as the percussive team uses subtlety, space and tones to take you to lands near the North Pole. Impressionistic, impressive and impressionable, you might want to reach for a parka halfway through listening.
